Who am I? You might be wondering. Well here goes.....
As with most artists, I am not a techy, so I am learning as I go. I have built this website to showcase my work and take the opportunity to share an insight into why I do what I do and what motivates me.
Happenstance
I walk a lot and use this time to be refreshed, to pray, to be inspired. I often am struck by a chance reflection, like the one illustrated. My daughter was standing on a rock, on Filey Brigg, near where I live in North Yorkshire. I happened to notice the reflection and how cruciform it was. Immediately it caught my attention and became the beginnings of 'Just Before You Fly...' a painting that encapsulated my feelings about my daughters imminent GCSE's and her growing up. Poppies blooming ready to seed and cast their seeds everywhere. Potential, change. death and resurrection like a caterpillar changing into a butterfly. . . #dreamscapes #fragile enchantments
So that's a small insight as to how my head works.
